A Rs. 40000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Rs. 35600 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Rs. 25000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Rs. 35000 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the incomes of β€˜A’ and β€˜B’ be Rs. 5x and Rs. 3x, respectively Let their expenditures be Rs. 3y and 4y, respectively According to the question, 5x – 3y = 43000….. (1) And, 3x – 4y = 6000…. (2) On solving equation (1) and (2), we get x = 14000 and y = 9000 Amount spent by β€˜A’ and β€˜B’, together on food = 0.25(5x + 3x) = Rs. 28000 Required expenditure = (3y + 4y) – 28000 = Rs. 35000
