Question
In physics examination a student scored 45% marks in
the first paper out of 160. How much percent marks should he score in the second paper out of 140 marks if he is to get an overall of 66% marks?Solution
Marks obtained in first paper = 45/100 × 160 = 72 Marks to be obtained in both the papers (160+140) × 66/100 = 198 ∴ Marks to be obtained necessarily is second paper = 198 - 72 = 126 ∴ Percentage of marks to be obtained in second paper = 126/140 × 100 = 90%Â
