Quantity of water in the initial mixture = 130 × (5/13) = 50 litres Quantity of petrol in the initial mixture = 130 × (8/13) = 80 litres Since, we’re not adding petrol, 130 litres of petrol will represent 50% of the new mixture. So, total quantity of resultant mixture = 130 ÷ 0.5 = 160 litres Quantity of water to be added = 160 – 130 = 30 litres
