Question
The average price of two mobile
phones, namely 'P' and 'Q' is Rs. 15,600 whereas the average price of phones 'Q' and 'R' is Rs. 16,800. If the average price of phone 'P' and 'R' is Rs. 16,200, then find the price of phone 'R'.Solution
ATQ, Let the price of phone ‘P’, ‘Q’ and ‘R’ be Rs. ‘p’, Rs. ‘q’ and Rs. ‘r’, respectively. p + q = 31,200 q + r = 33,600 r + p = 32,400 So, 2(p + q + r) = 97,200 Or, p + q + r = 48,600 So, price of phone ‘r’ = 48,600 – 31,200 = Rs. 17,400
