The term suit is not defined under the Code of Civil Procedure however, the term ordinarily means a civil proceeding instituted by presentation of a plaint. Civil suit is the institution of litigation for enforcement of civil rights. A plaint is a statement in writing of a cause of action in which the relief claimed is set out in detail. In other words, suit is a civil proceedings initiated in court of law for redressed of legal injury or enforcement of a civil right, and it is a continuous process from the stage of initiation till the stage of secu-ring the relief sought for in the suit.
