      The 42nd Amendment Act is also called the Constitution Act, 1976 as it tried to and made significant changes to the Indian Constitution. The 42nd Amendment introduced “Socialist”, “Integrity” and “Secular” into the Preamble and also added Art. 39 A, 43 A and 48 A to the Directive principles of State policy. It also added Art. 51 A i.e Fundamental duties to the Constitution of India.
