When many analog signals are to be digitized, they are first selected one by one using an analog multiplexer. In this case, the ADC should be fast and efficient so that multiple channels can be scanned quickly. The successive approximation type ADC is most suitable because it works on the principle of binary search, provides fixed conversion time, and has high speed which makes it ideal for multiplexed inputs. ●      Forward counter type is slow because conversion time depends on input value. ●      Dual slope type is accurate but too slow for handling multiple channels. ●      Up-down counter type is also slower compared to successive approximation.
