Kshemendra was an 11th-century poet from Kashmir in India. Kshemendra was born as a Shaiva, but later became a Vaishnava. He studied and wrote about both Vaishnavism and Buddhism. The study depicts the works of Kshemendra who made a respectable contribution to the literature of Kashmir. Kshemendra wrote his works in the reign of the Kashmirian King Ananta and his son Kalasa. He is also known as the father of social satire.
