Vinayak Damodar Savarkar (Veer Savarkar) was an Indian independence activist, politician, lawyer and writer. He is also known as Swatantryaveer Savarkar. He was involved with organizations such as India House and the Free India Society. ● Statement 2 is incorrect: Savarkar and his brother organized Mitra Mela, a secret society, in 1899, which merged with Abhinav Bharat in 1904. Free India Society was a political organization of Indian students in England, committed to obtaining the independence of India from British rule.
