Most Indians are eligible for applying for a tatkal passport. However, the following categories are ineligible for applying a passport under the tatkal scheme: 1.Major change in name 2.Those with present address outside jurisdiction of the RPO 3.Minor’s application with Annexure C (Ex. Minors whose Parents are divorced or separated, etc) 4.Applicants repatriated from abroad at Government cost 5.Applicants deported to India or travelled on Emergency Certificate 6.Persons of Naga origin including minors (below 18 years) 7.Persons of Naga origin residing outside Nagaland 8.Persons of J&K origin including minors (below 18 years) 9.Applicants who attract section 6(2)(e) or 6(2)(f) (related to criminal court cases) 10.Applicants with adverse police report, put under watch list, habitual passport losers or who had earlier travelled on forged or fake passports Fresh issue cases: 1.Citizens of India by Registration/Naturalization (granted citizenship by MHA) 2.Children adopted by Indian or Foreign parents 3.Child born out of wedlock and has single parent 4.Children born out of surrogacy 5.Minors with single parent Re-issue cases: 1.Lost/stolen passport cases 2.Re-issue of Short Validity Passport 3.Passport damaged beyond recognition cases 4.Change in sex, appearance or signature 5.Change/correction of date of birth or place of birth 6.Change of father/mother/spouse name
