The Fisheries sector has shown an impressive growth of 14.3 per cent from 2019-20 to 2021-22. The Fish production has reached an all - time high of 161.87 lakh tons during 2021-22. The sector saw all - time high exports of 13.64 lakh tonnes amounting to 57 thousand 587 crore rupees, dominated by exports of Shrimps . The PMMSY has supported 31.47 lakh farmers under insurance coverage across the country . About PMMSY Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana ( PMMSY ) was launched on 10 th September 2020. The aim of the scheme is to bring about Blue Revolution through the sustainable development of the fisheries sector over a period of five years (2020-2025).
