India resumed mango exports to the US after a pandemic-induced two-year gap. More than 1,000 tonnes of Alphonso, Kesar, and other varieties of mangoes have been shipped till now. India also exported mangoes to Japan for the first time while shipment to South Korea resumed after two years too. Besides exporting mangoes to the US, APEDA also organized a series of mango promotion programme in Dubai, Bahrain, Denmark, San Francisco, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Germany. India has also commenced exports of mangoes to Japan through a shipment of around 50 tonnes. Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is an apex body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, responsible for the export promotion of agricultural products.
