    B – According to subject – verb agreement, since the subject ‘colleges’ is plural, the verb should be plural as well. So ‘the ones that figure in’ is the correct usage. E – The past participle form of the verb should be used after ‘would be’. Thus, instead of ‘require’, ‘required’ should be used. So the correct statement would be The ministry has directed all engineering colleges in India, the ones that figure in the National Institutional Ranking Framework rating, to carry out a comprehensive need assessment survey, so as to calculate the number of hostels that would be required for SC candidates.
