It is an overarching programme for school education sector extending from pre-school to class XII and aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education at all levels of school education. Its thrust is to support states and UTs to improve the quality of school education across all levels. The scheme is in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal for Education (SDG-4) and has now been aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in order to ensure inclusive and equitable, quality and holistic school education.
