• The examination will be conducted for a duration of two hours and will consist of a maximum of 300 questions.
• The examination will include multiple-choice objective questions.
• The medium of the examination will be Hindi.
• Negative marking will be applicable for wrong answers. For each incorrect answer, a certain number of marks will be deducted. In the case of multiple incorrect answers for a question, the deduction will be based on the total number of options selected. If a question has only one correct answer, a specific penalty will be applied.

UPSC JTO Marking Scheme

In the UPSC JTO exam, there is a provision for negative marking for wrong answers. For each incorrect answer, a specific number of marks will be deducted.If a candidate selects multiple incorrect answers for a single question, the deduction will be based on the total number of options selected. The penalty will be applied accordingly to ensure fair assessment of the candidate's responses. UPSC JTO Interview 

Candidates who qualify the UPSC JTO written examination will be called for an Interview, which will assess their aptitude, communication skills, and overall suitability for the position of Junior Translation Officer.

UPSC JTO Final Selection 

In the selection process, the combined recruitment test (RT) and the interview will carry a weightage of 75:25 for candidates who are shortlisted from the combined recruitment test and successfully qualify in the interview. This means that the performance in the combined RT will hold 75% weightage, while the interview will hold 25% weightage in the final selection of candidates. 

Candidates who are shortlisted based on their performance in the combined recruitment test will then proceed to the interview stage. The interview performance will be considered along with the combined RT score to determine the final selection.
