Note: The date of passing the eligibility examination will be the date appearing on the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University/ Institute. In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University/ Institute, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the University/ Institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing.

Age Criteria

The SBI Circle Based Officer recruitment process has certain eligibility criteria, including age limit requirements. Candidates applying for the SBI CBO position must ensure they meet the specified age criteria before submitting their applications. SBI Circle Based Officer (CBO) Minimum Age - 21 years / Maximum Age - 30 years as on 31.10.2023 i.e. candidates must have been born not later than 31.10.2002 and not earlier than 01.11.1993 (both days inclusive).

Note: Candidates shall have to submit a job profile certified by their existing/ previous employer(s) with whom they are/were employed. In case their job profile does not match substantially or is different from the job profile of a Scale-I Generalist officer of State Bank of India then the application of such candidates will be summarily rejected at any stage of the recruitment process.

The decision of the Bank in this regard would be final and binding on all candidates. No representation or correspondence will be entertained by the Bank in this regard.

Age Relaxation

If you belong to any reserved category, you will be eligible for upper-age relaxation. A person with Benchmark Disability or PWD candidates will be eligible for a 4% horizontal reservation guided by various guidelines of the Government of India. 

OBC category candidates should submit the OBC certificate in the format prescribed by Govt. of India, having a "Non-Creamy Layer" clause issued for the interview, if called for interview.

Local Language

It is expected of candidates applying for vacancies in a specific Circle to possess proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding any one of the local languages specified for that Circle (as mentioned against each Circle). As part of the selection process, a language test will be conducted for provisionally selected candidates (based on performance in the online test, screening, and interview) before they join the Bank. If a candidate fails to qualify for this language test, they will not be offered the appointment.

However, candidates who can provide evidence in the form of a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate that they have studied the specified local language of the applied Circle as one of their subjects will not be required to undergo the language test.

SBI CBO Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

Candidates must be citizens of India to be eligible to apply for the SBI CBO Exam. The details as per the SBI CBO notification as follows:

  • The candidate should have Indian Citizenship. 
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan. 
  • A Tibetan Refugee came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement. 
  • (PIO) A person of Indian Origin who migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Vietnam, or the East African countries of Zaire, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Uganda, Malawi, Ethiopia, and Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India.
