The Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission has invited applications for various posts among which there are two posts of Steno-Typist & Junior Scale Stenographer. Educational Qualifications

To apply for the HPSSC Recruitment 2026 all the candidates must possess certain educational qualifications that will make them eligible for the desired posts. If any candidate fails to possess the required qualifications, his/her candidacy will get cancelled.

For the posts of Steno-Typist & Junior Scale Stenographer, a candidate should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board of school education. He/she should also possess a certain speed in Short-hand and Typing on computers in both the language i.e. English & Hindi at the time of initial appointment, the details of which have been given below.

The candidates should also possess the knowledge of word processing in computers as prescribed by the recruiting authority.

Note:

• The applicants should have passed their 10+2 & Matriculation from a recognized school/board within Himachal Pradesh.
• Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh is desirable.
• The candidates who qualify the shorthand test in one language at the time of initial recruitment will have to pass the shorthand test in second language within three years of service, which will make them eligible for the annual increment from the due date.
• In case the candidates qualify it after the period of three years, they will be eligible for an annual increment only from the date of qualifying the test.

Age Relaxation

The Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission will also provide certain relaxation in the upper age limit which will be applicable only to certain reserved categories.
