Goa Police Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

The Goa Police department had announced vacancies for a number of posts for direct recruitment in Sub Inspector, Constable, Searcher, Asst Sub Inspector, Photographer, Laboratory Technician, Stenographer and Lower Division Clerk. To take good advantage of this opportunity, you should first ensure the Goa Police SI and other posts eligibility criteria 2024.

Note:

  • Apart from all the essential qualifications, you need to possess 15 years of valid residence certificate issued by the Competent Authority of Goa.
  • Only male candidates will be eligible to apply for the post of Police Constable (Bandman).

Educational Qualification

If you wish to apply for any of the posts among Sub Inspector, Constable, Searcher, Asst Sub Inspector, Photographer, Laboratory Technician, Stenographer and Lower Division Clerk under the Goa Police recruitment, you should possess certain educational qualifications failing which you will be disqualified from the selection process.

  • The basic qualification required for all the posts is an - Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
  • For most of the posts, knowledge of the Marathi language is desirable.
  • For a few posts, knowledge of Konkani is essential.

Searcher Essential:
  • Degree of a recognized University or Equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Kokani.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Marathi.
Assistant Sub Inspector (Wireless Operator) Essential:
  • SSC or Equivalent.
  • Diploma in Electronics of a recognized Institution.
  • Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Marathi.
Photographer Essential:
  • SSC or Equivalent.
  • Diploma in Photography from a recognized Institute of University or equivalent.
OR
  • Certificate Course in Composite Course in Reproduction Photography, Plate Making and Offset Printing of recognized Board or institute.
  • 3 Years’ experience as a Photographer in an Agency of concern of repute with knowledge of printing. Developing, enlarging, colouring of photos and other processing work.
  • Knowledge of konkani.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Marathi.
Laboratory Technician Essential:
  • Bachelors Degree in Science with at least second class from recognized university.
  • Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Marathi.
  • Practical experience in any Scientific Laboratory.
Police Constable (Bandman) Essential:
  • Passed the Secondary School Certificate Examination from a recognized Board / Institution
OR
  • successfully completed the course conducted by a recognized Industrial Training or equivalent, in the relevant trade.
  • Experience in reading and writing and singing musical notes (Course Certificate will be preferred)
  • Should know to play two vocal instruments or one vocal instrument and one hand instrument played in the Police Band.
  • Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Marathi.
Police Constable (Mast Luskar) Essential:
  • S.S.C.E or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Konkani.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Marathi.
Police Constable (Wireless Messenger)
Stenographer Essential:
  • Higher Secondary School Certificate or All India Council for Technical Educations approved Diploma awarded by a recognized State Board of Technical Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
  • Should be Computer Literate.
  • Speed of 100 words per minute in Short hand and 35 words per minute in Typewriting.
  • Knowledge of konkani.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Marathi.
Lower Division Clerk Essential:
  • Processing Higher Secondary School Certificate or All India Council for Technical Educations approved Diploma awarded by a recognized State Board of Technical Education or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
  • Knowledge of Computer application/operations with typing speed of 30 words per minute in English.
  • Knowledge of konkani.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Marathi.

 

Physical Requirements

Except the essential qualifications specified for all the posts, there are certain physical standards that need to be followed with respect to the posts of Police Sub-Inspector and Police Constable. Age Criteria

Apart from the educational qualification, if you are applying for various posts in Goa Police recruitment you need to fall under a certain specified age bracket to be eligible for the recruitment. Age Relaxation

Besides the age criteria that is applicable to most of the categories, the Government of Goa also has a provision of age relaxation applicable to certain categories. Eligibility for Sportspersons

The Goa Police Department has also included certain eligibility conditions for ‘Sportspersons’ who are involved in certain sports. The ‘sportspersons’ who are eligible for Goa Police recruitment are-

  • Have represented a State or the Country in National or International competition in any of the Games/Sports listed below.
  • Have represented their University in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board in any of these Games.
  • Have represented the State School Teams in the National Sports/Games for School conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of these Games/Sports.
  • Have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under National Physical Efficiency Drive.
