IBPS RRB Officer Scale 1 Eligibility Criteria 2019

The Eligibility Criteria for Common Recruitment Process for RRBs (RRBs- CWE-VI) for Recruitment of Group "A"- Officers (Scale-I) is mentioned below:

  • Prospective Candidates should ensure that they fulfil the specified eligibility criteria as mentioned below before applying for the Common Recruitment Process 
  • Candidates may please note that the eligibility criteria specified is the basic criteria for appointment to the aforesaid posts in the Regional Rural Banks.

Educational Qualification 

Educational Qualification for Recruitment of Group "A"- Officers (Scale-I) is mentioned below:


i. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy;

ii. Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRB/s

iii. Desirable working knowledge of Computer


Nationality / Citizenship

A applicant must fulful the following criteria wrt nationality for applying to the post of Officers 'Scale -I".

A candidate must be either : 

(i) a Citizen of India or  

(ii) a subject of Nepal or  

(iii) a subject of Bhutan or  

(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or 

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.  

Age Limit:  Age will be reckoned as on 01 July 2019. 

For Officer Scale- I (Assistant Manager)- Above 18 years - Below 30 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.07.1989 and later than 30.06.2001 (both dates inclusive)


Age Relaxation: 

The maximum age limit specified above is applicable to General Category candidates only. For other categories, the following relaxations would apply:

Persons with Benchmark Disability as defined under “The Rights of Persons With Disabilities Act, 2016”

In the case of Ex- servicemen commissioned officers, including ECOs/ SSCOs, who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the next one year from the last date for receipt of application) other than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalidment, subject to ceiling as per Government guidelines

(for the post of Officers)

Persons ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 1-1-80 to 31-12-89

Persons affected by 1984 riots
