The ceremony in 2020 was not held because of the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Padma Awards are one of the highest and most respected civilian honours of India. In other words, the  number of nominations for the awards have increased as these awards have begun recognising a wider range of people.<\/li><li>In <strong>2020<\/strong>, <strong>46,000 nominations<\/strong> were received by the government. On the other hand, only <strong>2,200 nominations<\/strong> were received in<strong> 2014.<\/strong><\/li><li>The government launched the <strong>Padma Quiz 2018,<\/strong> which allows the winners to attend the award ceremony in person.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Fields<\/strong> of Padma Awardees 2021<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/Z6Y-2gZoQWTqTl85NrsDcl_t9Q6YKc3UIibXlu3qe1OlMGWODbvMVw88ila1MYP27bTpbfjOGVsIYa5bPZefDxP8mVJPCt_ONITnqBB2-gEHiN6LRvbYNbtedH5IQrr_but2kXtB\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Overview<\/strong>: Padma Awardees of 2021<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In 2021, 119 Padma awards were conferred.<\/li><li>16 awards were conferred posthumously.<\/li><li>The awardees include 29 women and one transgender awardee.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Winners of <strong>Padma Awardees 2021&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Padma Vibhushan<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the <strong>second-highest<\/strong> civilian award, after the Bharat Ratna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>2021<\/strong>, the Padma Bhushan award has been conferred on <strong>7 recipients<\/strong>.
