What is IFSC?<\/b><\/h2>\n

IFSC<\/b> is the acronym used for <\/span>Indian Financial System Code.<\/b> This is an 11-digit alphanumeric code used in the Indian banking system which ensures smooth electronic funds transfer in India. The <\/span>IFSC<\/b> is a distinctive code that combines the \u2018bank code\u2019 and the \u2018branch code\u2019. Thus, we can say that it functions as an identification code for the banks and their respective branches and considering the fact that all the banks these days facilitate the electronic funds transfer and involve the use of \u2018payment & settlement systems\u2019, all of them are allotted this \u2018IFS Code\u2019 by the <\/span>Reserve Bank of India<\/b>. Whenever an online transaction needs to be initiated, it will not be possible without an authentic IFSC of the respective bank branch. <\/span><\/p>\n

Pattern of IFSC<\/b> –<\/span> Indian Financial System Code<\/b><\/h3>\n

The <\/span>IFSC<\/b> is an 11- digit <\/span>alphanumeric code<\/b>, which means that it consists of both \u2018numbers\u2019 and \u2018alphabets\u2019 which makes it a unique combination.
