The document lays down the framework demarcating fundamental political code, structure, procedures, powers, and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Who Wrote the Indian Constitution?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The constitution was drafted by the <\/span><b>Constituent Assembly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which was elected by the elected members of the provincial assemblies. <\/span><b>Dr. B. R Ambedkar <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was the chairman of the drafting committee that was responsible for preparing the constitution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Drafting Commission constituted of a panel of <\/span><b>7<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> members. <strong>B.<\/strong><\/span><strong>R. Ambedkar, Sanjay Phakey, Jawaharlal Nehru, C. Rajagopalachari, Rajendra Prasad, Vallabhbhai Patel, Kanaiyalal Maneklal Munshi, Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar, Sandipkumar Patel, Abul Kalam Azad, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Nalini Ranjan Ghosh, and Balwant Rai Mehta<\/strong> were key figures in the Constituent Assembly.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Key Features of the Indian Constitution<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Let us learn some special features related to the Indian Constitution.<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The constitution of India is the world\u2019s longest written constitution of any sovereign country in the world. 400;\">Till date, the Indian Constitution has been amended a 104 times. However, till now, the preamble has been amended only once. On <\/span><b>18 December 1976<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, during the Emergency in India, the Indira Gandhi government pushed through several changes in the <\/span><b>Forty-second Amendment <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the constitution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through this amendment, the words &#8220;<\/span><b>socialist<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; and &#8220;<\/span><b>secular<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; were added between the words &#8220;<\/span><b>sovereign<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; and &#8220;<\/span><b>democratic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8221; and the words &#8220;unity of the Nation&#8221; were changed to &#8220;<\/span><b>unity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d and \u201c<\/span><b>integrity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d of the Nation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Articles OF Indian Constitution<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><strong>How Many Articles are there in the Indian Constitution?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Articles form a crucial part of the Indian constitution, which gives further dimensions to it. There are a total of 395 articles in the Indian Constitution. These are included in the various 25 parts.
