India, also known as the Republic of India (Officially) is a country in South Asia. It is the second most populous country in the world after China. It is bounded by Arabian Sea on the South west, Indian Ocean on the South and Bay of Bengal on the South east. India shares Land boundaries with Pakistan, China Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. India has a total of 104 national parks. The World\u2019s first national park was established in 1872 i.e. Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, USA, for the benefit of public pleasure and benefit. India\u2019s first National Park was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park (now known as Jim Corbett National Park) located in Uttarakhand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is National Park?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A national park is an area protected by the government because of its environmental or historical importance. The primary idea behind this is to conserve wildlife with minimum human interference. A national park has a defined boundary, through which no person can get into without official approval by the government. The visitors can only observe the park inside a vehicle. They cannot get out of the vehicle unless that place is approved by the government. Photographs in the national park are allowed whereas, for research and educational work prior permission is needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How a National Park is different from Wildlife Sanctuary?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although both wildlife sanctuaries and national parks contribute remarkably for the conservation of nature, the level of the general public interference with the national parks and wildlife sanctuaries deviates. The national parks are more restricted for the people. In both these protected areas, people can visit for, educational, research, and inspirational purposes but government has imposed some more limitations in national parks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
