On January 30, 2020,<\/strong> Muttoli Ajit Kumar <\/strong>has been appointed as the Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs<\/strong> (CBIC). He is a 1984 batch IRS Officer<\/strong> and is currently serving as Principal Chief Commissioner of GST and Central Excise<\/strong>. M Ajit Kumar is an M Sc in Law and Finance from the University of Oxford. He also has MA, LLB from Delhi University and a Programme on Corporate Taxation and Advocacy from Duke University<\/strong> under his belt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About CBIC:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) is the nodal national agency in charge of administering Customs, GST, Central Excise, Service, Tax and Narcotics in India. It was established on January 26, 1944. It is one of the oldest government bodies in India and is a part of the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anjani Rathore:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

 Anjani Rathore<\/strong> has been appointed as its Chief Digital Officer by HDFC Bank on 9th Feb 2020<\/strong>. Previously, he used to serve as the Chief Information Officer in Bharti Airtel. Anjani Rathore is an IIT\u2019ian and also holds a post-graduate diploma in management from IIM-Calcutta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Debashis Panda<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Debashis Panda, 1987 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre has been appointed as the Secretary, Department of Financial Services on February 13, 2020, by the Government of India. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rajiv Bansal<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Rajiv Bansal, 1988 batch IAS officer of Nagaland cadre has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of Air India on February 13, 2020, by the Government of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rishi Sunak:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Rishi Sunak<\/strong> has been appointed as UK’s Finance Minister on February 13, 2020. He is the Son-in Law of Narayana Murthy<\/strong> (Infosys co-founder). He replaced Pakistani Chancellor Sajid Javid. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mahant Nritya Gopal\nDas<\/strong> has been elected as the President of Ram Mandir Trust<\/strong>. The trust also includes Nripendra Misra<\/strong>\n(former principal secretary of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi) as the Head of the Temple Construction Committee<\/strong>\nand Champat\nRai <\/strong>as the General\nSecretary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abhay Kumar Singh:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On February 24, 2020, Abhay Kumar Singh has been appointed as\nthe Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of NHPC Limited, a Miniratna\nhydropower PSU under the Ministry of Power by the Appointment Committee of the\nCabinet (ACC). He was recommended to this post by the PESB panel on August 20, 2019.\nEarlier, he was serving as Executive Director in the same organization. He was\nalso acting as a Nominee Director in Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric\nDevelopment Corporation Limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
