This year, the IB is recruiting 4,987 Security Assistants\/Executives<\/strong> across 37 Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux<\/strong> (SIBs). From Delhi\u2019s tricity to the far\u2011flung hills of Gangtok, you could be posted anywhere\u2014provided you know the local language or dialect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vacancies are spread out with reservations for SC, ST, OBC\u2011NCL, EWS and Ex\u2011Servicemen, so whether you\u2019re from an urban centre or a rural district, there\u2019s likely a slot for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are You Eligible<\/a>? Here\u2019s the Lowdown<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

First things first: you must have passed Matriculation (10th standard) or an equivalent exam by 17\u202fAugust\u202f2025. That\u2019s your basic ticket in. Next, you\u2019ll need a domicile certificate for the state or UT whose SIB you\u2019re targeting\u2014and you\u2019ll have to read, write and speak at least one of the local dialects listed in the notification (for example, Punjabi in Amritsar, Kannada in Bengaluru, Mizo in Aizawl, and so on).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Age-wise, you should be between 18 and 27 years as of the closing date, with the usual government relaxations: +5 years for SC\/ST, +3 for OBC\u2011NCL, plus special concessions for departmental employees, ex\u2011servicemen, meritorious sportspersons and widows\/divorcees in certain categories. If you\u2019ve got any field experience in security or intelligence work, that\u2019s a bonus\u2014but not mandatory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What You\u2019ll Earn: Pay Scale & Perks<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Selected candidates will join at Level\u202f3 of the Central Pay Matrix, drawing a basic pay of \u20b921,700 up to \u20b969,100. On top of that, there\u2019s a 20\u202f% Special Security Allowance, dearness allowance, HRA (if quarters aren\u2019t provided), leave\u2011travel concessions, and even cash in lieu of holiday duty. In short, it\u2019s a comfortable package\u2014especially for a Group\u202f\u2018C\u2019 post you enter straight after 10th standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Three\u2011Tier Selection Dance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  1. Tier I: Online Objective Exam (100 marks, 1 hour)<\/strong>
    You\u2019ll face 100 MCQs split across General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English and General Studies. There\u2019s a \u00bc\u2011mark penalty for wrong answers, and minimum cut\u2011offs vary by category (e.g., UR\u202f30, OBC\u202f28).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Tier II: Descriptive Test (50 marks, 1 hour)<\/strong>
    Here comes the local\u2011language twist: translate a 500\u2011word passage from your dialect to English and<\/strong> vice versa. You\u2019ll need at least 20\/50<\/strong> to qualify.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Tier III: Interview\/Personality Test (50 marks)<\/strong>
    A friendly conversation on your background, language skills, general awareness and suitability. Your Tier\u202fI and Tier\u202fIII scores together decide the final merit list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    4. Pay the Fees<\/strong>: \u20b9650 for UR\/OBC\/EWS males (\u20b9100 exam + \u20b9550 processing); \u20b9550 for SC\/ST\/Female\/ESM.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
