There are various schemes that have been launched <g class=\"gr_ gr_18 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace\" id=\"18\" data-gr-id=\"18\">till<\/g> date by various Ministries in order to promote women and child development. Be it assuring security to women with <strong>Women Help Line<\/strong> and <strong>One Stop Centre<\/strong> or to promote Girl child survival and education with <strong>Beti Bachao Beti Padhao<\/strong> Scheme. These schemes are very important from the exam point of view as these are asked in exams like NABARD very frequently. This particular topic is very important for the upcoming exam <strong>NABARD Grade A 2021 <\/strong>for Economic and Social Issues section. Other than that, these schemes come under the General awareness section which is going to be asked in all upcoming competitive exams like <strong>RBI Assistant, SBI Clerk <g class=\"gr_ gr_21 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"21\" data-gr-id=\"21\">etc<\/g><\/strong>. The following are some very important schemes that are launched for women and child welfare in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PM-CARES for Children Scheme<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Launch date<\/strong>: May 29, 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ministry Involved<\/strong>: N\/A <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objective<\/strong>: All children who have lost both parents or surviving parents or legal guardian\/adoptive parents due to Covid 19 will be supported under PM-CARES for Children scheme.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Features:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PM CARES will contribute through a specially designed scheme to create a corpus of Rs 10 lakh for each child when he or she reaches 18 years of age. This corpus will be used for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li><strong>Fixed Deposit in the name of the child<\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Will be used for giving a monthly financial support\/ stipend from 18 years of age, for the next five years to take care of his or her personal requirements during the period of higher education and<\/li><li>On reaching the age of 23 years, he or she will get the corpus amount as one lump sum for personal and professional use.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. School Education: For children under 10 years<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The child will be given admission to the nearest Kendriya Vidyalaya or in a private school as a day scholar.<\/li><li>If the child is admitted to a private school, the fees as per the RTE norms will be given from the PM CARES.<\/li><li>PM-CARES will also pay for expenditure on uniforms, textbooks and notebooks.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. School Education: for children between 11-18 years:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The child will be given admission in any Central Government residential school such as Sainik School and Navodaya Vidyalaya.<\/li><li>In case the child is to be continued under the care of Guardian\/ grandparents\/ extended family, then he or she will be given admission in the nearest Kendriya Vidyalaya or in a private school as a day scholar.<\/li><li>If the child is admitted in a private school, the fees as per the RTE norms will be given from the PM CARES.<\/li><li>PM CARES will also pay for expenditure on uniform, text books and notebooks.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Support for Higher Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The child will be assisted in obtaining an education loan for Professional courses \/ Higher Education in India as per the existing Education Loan norms. The interest on this loan will be paid by the PM CARES.<\/li><li>As an alternative, scholarships equivalent to the tuition fees\/course fees for undergraduate\/ vocational courses as per Government norms will be provided to such children under Central or State Government Schemes.<\/li><li>For children who are not eligible under the existing scholarship schemes, PM CARES will provide an equivalent scholarship.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Health Insurance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All children will be enrolled as a beneficiary under <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pmjay.gov.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ayushman Bharat Scheme (PM-JAY)<\/a><\/strong> with a health insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakhs.<\/li><li>The premium amount for these children till the age of 18 years will be paid by PM CARES.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Launched date: <\/strong>January 22, 2015 by PM Narendra Singh Modi<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ministry Involved:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ministry of Women and Child Development<\/li><li>Ministry of Health and Family Welfare<\/li><li>Ministry of Human and Resource Development.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This scheme was launched with an aim to prevent gender-based sex selective elimination. It promotes gild child by ensuring survival protection and education of the girl child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Features:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Olympics 2016, Bronze medalist <strong>Sakshi Malik<\/strong> was made Brand Ambassador for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao(BBBP) on August 26, 2016.<\/li><li>The initial Budget allotted for this scheme was 100 crores.<\/li><li>As per 2011 census data, the CSR (Child Sex Ratio) was 918 girls per 1000 boys which was dropped from the 2001 Census data i.e. 927 girls per 1000 boys. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;<strong>Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana<\/strong> is a small deposit scheme for the girl child, launched as a part of the BBBP campaign, which would fetch an attractive interest rate and provide an income tax rebate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritiva Abhiyan<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Launched date: June 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ministry Involved: <\/strong>Ministry of Health and Family Welfare<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritiva Abhiyan was launched with an aim to boost health care facilities for <strong>Pregnant Women<\/strong>. This scheme will tend to reduce the maternal death rate happening in India. With daily check-ups, chances of severe diseases will be lower. It also makes sure safe delivery and healthy life for the baby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Features:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Women from urban and semi urban areas are not eligible to take advantage of this scheme.<\/li><li>The check-up will take place on the 9th of every month.<\/li><li>Women who are 3 to 6 months pregnant are eligible to take advantage of this scheme.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ujjawala Scheme<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Launched date: <\/strong>April 01, 2016<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ministry Involved: <\/strong>Ministry of Women and Child Development<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This scheme was launched to prevent commercial sexual exploitation of women and children by creating awareness through workshops and seminars. It aims to rescue victims from the place of exploitation and rehabilitate both immediate and long-term victims. They also ensure basic needs like food, shelter, clothes and medical treatment including Counselling (legal aid and guidance).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main components of the scheme are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Prevention<\/li><li>Rescue<\/li><li>Rehabilitation<\/li><li>Re-integration<\/li><li>Repatriation<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Implementing agencies who all are eligible for this scheme will have to bear 10% of the project cost whereas 90% of it will be borne by the Government of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>National Nutrition Mission (POSHAN Abhiyan)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Launched date: March 8, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ministry Involved: <\/strong>Ministry of Women and Child Development<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objective: <\/strong>This scheme aims to improve nutritional status belonging to 0 to 6 years, adolescent girls, pregnant women in a time bound manner of three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three years budget that was launched by the National Nutrition Mission for this scheme was 9046. 17 crores commencing from 2017-18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It aims to benefit more than 10 crore people from this scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Budget allocation for this scheme is as follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>50% Budget- Government Support.<\/li><li>50% budget- World Bank<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of the 50% Government budget support.&nbsp; The ratio of Central to State government support is 60:40. This ratio in the northeast region and Himalayan region is 90:10 and 100% of Central support in UT with the Legislature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>STEP (Support to Training and Employment Programme for Women) Scheme<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Launched date: <\/strong>1986-87<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ministry Involved: <\/strong>Ministry of Women and Child Development<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objective:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This scheme aims to provide skills that enable women to become self-employed\/entrepreneurs. Along with emergency response to women affected, it also provides counselling through the phone and provides awareness about government schemes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Features:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Budget allotted for this scheme in 2019-20 is 17.78 crores.<\/li><li>Women helpline numbers have been set up all across the country with the uniform code 181.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Launch date:<\/strong> October 2, 1975<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ministry Involved: <\/strong>Ministry of Women and Child Development<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objective<\/strong>: ICDS was launched as a response to the challenge of providing pre-school non-formal education on one hand and breaking the vicious cycle of malnutrition, morbidity, reduced learning capacity and mortality on the other.
