UKSSSC AAO is the recent notification released by the Uttarakhand Commission. Let\u2019s look into some recent updates in the Agriculture field where there is an update regarding the 4th Advacne Estimates on 2018-19 crop production.<\/span><\/p>\n

4th Advance Estimates 2018-19<\/b><\/h3>\n

The 4th Advance Estimates of production of major crops for 2018-19 have been released by the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare on 19th August, 2019. <\/span><\/p>\n

The assessment of production of different crops is based on the feedback received from States and validated with information available from other sources. <\/span><\/p>\n

The estimated production of various crops as per the 4th Advance Estimates for 2018-19 vis-\u00e0-vis the comparative estimates for the years 2005-06 onwards is enclosed.<\/span><\/p>\n

As per 4th Advance Estimates, the estimated production of major crops during 2018-19 is as under:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Foodgrains <\/b> \u2013284.95 million tonnes.<\/span>\n
      \n
    • Rice  \u2013  116.42  million tonnes. <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Wheat \u2013 102.19 million tonnes <\/span><\/li>\n
    • Nutri \/ Coarse Cereals \u2013 42.95 million tonnes.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Maize  \u201327.23 million tonnes.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Pulses  \u201323.4 million tonnes.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Gram \u2013 10.13 million tonnes.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Tur  \u20133.59 million tonnes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Total 9 Oilseeds <\/b> \u201332.26 million tonnes. (Groundnut, Sesamum, Castor seed, Niger Seed, Soyabean, Sunflower, Rapeseed & Mustard, Linseed, Safflower)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        • Soyabean  \u2013  13.79 million tonnes<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Rapeseed and Mustard  \u2013  9.34 million tonnes<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Groundnut  \u2013  6.69 million tonnes<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          1. Cotton<\/b>  \u2013  28.71 million bales (of 170 kg each)<\/span><\/li>\n
          2. Sugarcane <\/b>\u2013 400.16 million tonnes <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

             As per Fourth Advance Estimates for 2018-19, total <\/span>Foodgrain <\/b>production in the country is estimated at 284.95 million tonnes which is higher by 19.2 million tonnes than the previous five years\u2019 (2013-14 to 2017-18) average production of foodgrain.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Total production of <\/span>Rice <\/b>during 2018-19 is estimated at record 116.42 million tones which has increased by 3.66 million tonnes than the production of 112.76 million tonnes during 2017-18. It is also higher by 8.62 million tonnes than the five years\u2019 average production of 107.80 million tonnes.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Production of <\/span>Wheat<\/b>, estimated at record 102.19 million tonnes, is higher by 2.32 million tonnes as compared to wheat production of 99.87 million tonnes achieved during 2017-18. Moreover, the production of wheat during 2018-19 is higher by 7.58 million tonnes than the average wheat production of 94.61 million tonnes.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Production of <\/span>Nutri \/ Coarse Cereals <\/b>estimated at 42.95 million tonnes is higher by 1.19 million tonnes than the average production.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Total <\/span>Pulses <\/b>production during 2018-19 is estimated at 23.4 million tonnes which is higher by 3.14 million tones than the Five years\u2019 average production of 20.26 million tonnes.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Total 9 <\/span>Oilseeds <\/b>production in the country during 2018-19 is estimated at 32.26 million tonnes.The production of oilseeds during 2018-19 is higher by 2.61 million tonnes than the Five years\u2019 average oilseeds production. <\/span><\/p>\n

            With an increase by 20.25 million tonnes over 2017-18, total production of <\/span>Sugarcane<\/b> in the country during 2018-19 is estimated at 400.16 million tonnes. Moreover, the production of sugarcane during 2018-19 is also higher by 50.38 million tonnes than the average sugarcane production of 349.78 million tonnes.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Production of <\/span>Cotton <\/b>estimated at 28.71 million bales (of 170 kg each) and production of <\/span>Jute & Mesta<\/b> estimated at 9.77 million bales (of 180 kg each).<\/span><\/p>\n
