These estimations are made on the basis of climatic conditions (rainfall) and area sown. The cumulative rainfall in the country during the monsoon season (June to September, 2018) has been 9% lower than Long Period Average (LPA). Most of the major crops producing states have witnessed normal monsoon rainfall. Accordingly, the production of most of the crops for the agricultural year 2018-19 has been estimated higher than their normal production. These estimates are subject to revision on account of more precise information flowing over time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>As per 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Advance Estimates, the estimated production of major crops during 2018-19 is as under:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Foodgrains <\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0 281.37 million tonnes.\n<ul>\n<li>Rice\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 115.60\u00a0 million tonnes. (record)<\/li>\n<li>Nutri \/ Coarse Cereals \u2013 42.64 million tonnes.<\/li>\n<li>Maize\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 27.80 million tonnes.<\/li>\n<li>Pulses\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 24.02 million tonnes.<\/li>\n<li>Tur\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 3.68 million tonnes.<\/li>\n<li>Gram \u2013 10.32 million tonnes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Oilseeds <\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0 31.50 million tonnes.\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Soyabean\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 13.69 million tonnes<\/li>\n<li>Rapeseed and Mustard \u00a0\u2013\u00a0 8.40 million tonnes<\/li>\n<li>Groundnut\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 6.97 million tonnes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cotton<\/strong>\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 30.09 million bales (of 170 kg each)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jute\u00a0 &amp; Mesta <\/strong>-10.07 million bales (of 180 kg each)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sugarcane <\/strong>\u2013 380.83 million tonnes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Production of <strong>Wheat<\/strong>, estimated at 99.12 million tonnes, is higher by 2.01 million tonnes as compared to wheat production of 97.11 million tonnes in 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Advance Estimates of 2017-18.
