      • RBI has cancelled the licence of Subhadra Local Area Bank, Kolhapur, as its affairs were conducted in a "manner detrimental" to the interests of its present and future depositors.
      • The bank had breached the minimum net worth requirement for two quarters in the financial year 2019-20
    • Banks need Rs one lakh crore for NPAs, growth, says Reserve Bank of India
      • RBI has stated that banks will need additional capital of up to one and a half percentage points of risk-weighted assets in its assessment of the impact of Covid-19 on lenders.
      • Given that total bank loans are around Rs 104 lakh crore, the capital requirement would be more than Rs 1 lakh crore.
    • SEBI plans to rope in agency to conduct risk assessment of IT infra
      • SEBI is looking to rope in an agency for performing in-depth risk assessment of its information technology (IT) infrastructure.

    • India to become 5th largest economy in 2025, 3rd largest by 2030
      • India, which appears to have been pushed back to being the world's sixth biggest economy in 2020, will again overtake the UK to become the fifth largest in 2025 and race to the third spot by 2030, as per Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR)

      • The road transport ministry has extended the deadline for 100% collection of toll charges on the National Highway (NH) network through FASTag till February 15, 2021
    • Economy to contract at 7.3% in FY21: NCAER
      • The National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) has revised upward its gross domestic product (GDP) projection for FY21 to 7.3% contraction from the 12.6% dip estimated in September 2020 with the expectation that the economy will register marginal growth in the December quarter.

      • Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) launched the fifth and final Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) out of an order of five such vessels it is constructing for the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).
