      • During the Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, the RBI announced that it would conduct on-tap targeted long-term repo operations (TLTRO) worth Rs 1 lakh crore.
      • Recently the RBI has clarified that the banks can deploy money drawn from TLTRO in six sectors- agriculture, agri-infrastructure, secured retail, MSMEs, drugs, pharmaceuticals and healthcare.

      • Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recently launched Base Metals Index 'METLDEX'.

      • DBS Bank has been named the 'Safest Bank in Asia' for the 12th consecutive year by New York-based trade publication Global Finance.

    • EXIM Bank allows $310 million LoC to Republic of Zimbabwe
      • Export-Import (Exim) Bank has allowed a Line of Credit (LoC) of USD 310 million on behalf of the Government of India.

    • RBI imposes Rs 1 crore fine on Jio Payments Bank
      • Reserve Bank of India imposed a penalty of Rs 1 crore on Reliance Jio Payments Bank Limited for non-compliance with RBI directions on timely submission of application in the case of re-appointment of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO).

      • State Bank of India (SBI) has signed a loan agreement worth $1 billion with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).

    • Remittances to India to drop by 9% in 2020: World Bank
      • World Bank's Migration and Development Brief reports that remittances to India would fall by nine per cent to USD 76 billion during this 2020-21 FY.

      • The government released a commemorative postage stamp on the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.
    • Speedtest Global Index for September
      • The Speedtest Global Index for September is released by Ookla, which compares internet speed data from around the world on a monthly basis. The data for the index comes from the hundreds of millions of tests taken by real people using Speedtest every month.
      • South Korea ranks number one with an average mobile data speed of 121 Mbps and the the global average of 35.26 Mbps.
      • The index has ranked India's mobile internet speeds at 131 for mobile internet speeds for September 2020. India's average mobile download speed is 12.07 Mbps.

    • LTC cash voucher scheme extended to all employees
      • The Centre has extended the exemption available under LTC (leave travel concession) cash voucher scheme to all employees.
      • The scheme which was earlier offered to central government employees only can now be availed by state governments, state-owned enterprises and private sector workers.
    • Construction for new Parliament building to begin in December
      • Parliament building is set to change and the construction of the new government legislative building is set to begin in December this year.
